Back from successful roadtrip to game against leagues’ best

Yes the Milwaukee Brewers are in first, and why does everyone have such a hard time believing that? They actually have a decent team.

Not decent enough, however.

Ok, I’m all for baseball superstitions, but I don’t know how far I’ll take this “bald” thing. True, David Wright has found his swing and homered even here back at Shea. Shawn Green had been doing awesome until he shaved, hated it, and now he sucks. W-T-F. Not saying there’s any truth behind it. But you never know.

Aside from Wright, the other struggling heavy-hitter also hit a homerun. Can it be that Carlos Delgado has woken up as well? This combined with Easely (who’s had more homeruns than both of them), helped the Mets win it tonight.

The real surprise, however has been Jorge Sosa. I already had worrysome thoughts about Jeff Suppan, since the scars from last year haven’t quite healed. Sosa had a good first game back in the majors against Arizona, but this was the real deal. Back at Shea, where the crowds don’t forgive, and where the Suppan name stings. Well he DID IT.

Aaron Heilman continues to struggle however. I understand he is our main late game reliever, but he has to start to shape up. After having a comfortable lead, he lets it down to a one run game. At least when the first chords of “Enter Sandman” began to play at the top of the 9th, I had confidence that Billy would finish it off.

I also chanted for Joe Smith of course. HE should be the top reliever. Yet to give up a run.

All in all, a fun day at the ballpark.

I went to go see this game with Steve and Frank. Steve’s not a jinx!! SCORE. Frank didn’t wear his Smith jersey, which kind of threw things off…oh and we got to the game late as usual. Who cares though, the Mets OWNED. Nothing better than hearing “Enter Sandman” followed by “Takin’ Care of Buisness” just 10 minutes later.
